Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Washington, Aug 13 (ANI): Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf must resign from the Presidency for the maintenance of law and order in his country, restoration of deposed judges and providing relief to the masses, said US Senator Tom Harkin.

The Senator said this in a statement issued from the White House here.

Pakistan is going through the problems like judges deposed by Musharraf, inflation, intensive clashes between the Taliban and security forces, and many others, therefore President's resignation would provide the people of Pakistan a "sigh of relief" and would build up their confidence, added the Senator's statement.

President Musharraf would not be able to keep confidence of Pakistani people alive at this juncture thus he should embrace the decision of the people of Pakistan, which they aired by opting the current ruling government, The News quoted the statement as saying. (ANI)
