Srinagar Encounter: 1 suspected militant killed, 2 police officials injured
Kashmir, May 23 (ANI): Police officials gunned down a militant, suspected to be from the Lashkar-e-Taiba, in Srinagar on Thursday. According to Syed Ashiq Bukhari, SSP of Srinagar, Hilal Molvi of LeT was killed in an encounter with the police in Narparistan (Fatah Kadal) area of old Srinagar city. He also confirmed of three police officials getting injured in the gunfight. The shootout started in the early hours after police surrounded a residential house in the densely populated area on receiving specific information about the militant's presence there. As per reports, the militant opened fire at the police, who retaliated and gunned him down. No civilian was hurt in the operation.
