Seva Bharati, CPI(M) cadre provide services for relief across flood-hit Kerala

Trivandrum/Kumily/Palakkad (Kerala), Aug 19 (ANI): Seva Bharati, a unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) cadres has been carrying out rescue and relief operations across the state of Kerala. Seva Bharati opened relief camps across Kerala mainly in Aluva and Chengannoor areas. They also started collection centers across the state. They collect and further distribute collections from people. Relief material such as food materials, dress, blankets and drinking water are being supplied by the people. Hundreds of volunteers are engaged in rescue operations and attending relief camps and collection centers across the state. CPI(M) cadres, along with Nemmara MLA K Babu, are carrying out rescue and relief operations in Palakkad. They are providing relief measure to 35 Nelliampathy Kada Tribes rescued from land slide area. They are now sheltered at government high school in Nemmara. 357 people have lost their lives in the flood so far, with over two lakh people in relief camps.
