Hindus and Muslims flock the Urs of Usman Harooni reflecting essence of communal harmony

Ajmer, Aug 03 (ANI): Thousands of people gather at the city of Ajmer to offer prayers and seek the blessings of the Saint Hazrat Usman Harooni during his annual Urs. Harooni belongs to modern sufi saints who carry forward the tradition of Sufism. Usman Harooni was born in Haroon, Iran. He is also known by his nicknames, Abu Noor and Abu Mansur. People of different faiths celebrate the Urs with vigour and gaiety. On this occasion, many arrangements are made for the devotees. The ‘Janati Darwaza’ is opened for the public who pass through it to get blessings. An atmosphere of religious amity can be seen during this Urs. During this event, qawwalli, a devotional song sung in praise of almighty, mostly at sufi shrines is performed by the head qawall. Many people of different communities participate in the session with a lot of vigour and energy. This portrays a picture of communal harmony, which is the true essence of India.
