Chettinad Prawn curry Ingredients: For Masala powder Coriander seeds - 1 Tbsp Cardamom pods - 4 nos Cinnamon - few pieces Cloves - 4 nos Pepper corns - 6 to 7 nos Red chili - 3 nos Piece of Mace/Javitri Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Poppy seeds - 1 tsp Marinating Prawn Prawns (deveined) - 1/2 Kg Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Chili powder - 2 tsp Salt Oil - 1 Tbsp Mustard seeds - 1 tsp Shallots - 25 nos chopped Green chilis - 2 nos slit Few Curry leaves Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp Tomatoes - 2 nos chopped Turmeric powder - a pinch Chili powder - 2 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Ground masala powder - 1 1/2 tsp Tamarind pulp - 1 Tbsp Water Garnish with curry leaves Method: 1. First dry roast Coriander seeds, Cardamom pods, Cinnamon, Cloves, Pepper corns, Red chili, Mace/Javitri, Fennel seeds, Cumin seeds & Poppy seeds 2. Let them cool and grind to powder 3. To the prawns, add turmeric powder, chili powder & salt. Mix and let it sit 4. Heat oil in a wide pan. Saute Mustard seeds, Shallots, Green chilis, Curry leaves. Saute till brown 5.
