Mumbai, September 07 (ANI): Born on July 18 1982 in Jharkhand, Priyanka Chopra is a well known name in Bollywood. She started her career as a model and gained fame after winning the Miss World title in 2000. Very few know that she made her debut on the big screen with a Tamil movie Thamizan. She ventured into Bollywood films in 2003 with the film The Hero and followed it with the hit Andaaz, for which she won Filmfare Award For best Female Debut. She subsequently earned critical acclaim for her performance in Aitraz, and later appeared in the commercially successful projects such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Krrish and Don. The year 2008 marked the beginning of a new phase in Chopras career as her portrayal of a troubled model in Fashion earned her a National Film Award, as well as the Filmfare award for best Actress. Having done so, Chopra established herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses in Bollywood. In the year 2011, Priyanka also won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her scintillating performance in Saat Khoon Maaf.In addition to acting, Chopra is a trained western singer also.
