Cricket

Today undoubtedly cricket has left all the mega sports behind in terms of popularity.

From its starts, it has changed and modified as per the taste and perception of the viewers and the latest format of fast food cricket-T-20 has created a passion among the people. There was a time when it was termed a game of some nation but today it has been enchanted to the rest part of the world.

Cricket was initially a summer sports in the 17th century in England. After travelling a long journey it became an adopted sport in the second half of 17th century. Today cricket has become a triumph for it fans and a market where everything is available, money, glamour, adventures and many more. If cricket has today survived with such an immense support from its fans then certainly credit goes to its experts who changed its formats as per the demand and taste of its viewers.

Initially it was in Test match format and it was blamed for its marathon 5 days duration. Then it comes one day match in which results was bound to declare in the same day. Needless to say, One-day international matches had special attractions and charm, which remained for a long time. To enhance its charm, the tournament of World Cup cricket was initiated in which all Test playing nations along with one-day international teams participate. The beginning of World Cup tournament created storm in other parts of the country especially in the third world. The popularity of cricket rises day by day and it reaches to Gulf countries, Canada, Africa and European nations.

But soon it become clear that One-day International is losing its charm in the world of cricket. To retain the charisma of cricket, a new format was initiated, which is called mini version of cricket or fast food edition of cricket, known as T-20 cricket where you have to spent just your three hours and get in return a full of adventure, struggle and complete entertainment. It was initiated to confront the challenges of other more popular games in the world like Football, basketball and Tennis.  If all these things are available in only three hours then certainly the fast food version of cricket has got such popularity. Although five days test matches have their own charm which experts assume that it is the true test of character and calibre.

Today cricket has been played in throughout the world especially in Australia, England, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and some of the other countries. But its popularity is increasing day by day, and most countries have shown interests in the cricket, which is a good indication for the future of the sports.
