Continuing the trend in terms of results, the girls of class 10th and 12th have once again outshone boys in Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and Central Board of School Examination (CBSE) this year.
The result for all regions have been declared on Wednesday in which 98.14% of girls in ICSE (class - X) have been declared passed while 96.90% of boys have got success in the same class, as Gerry Arathoon, additional secretary of CISCE said.
Similar in ISC (Class-XII), 98.18% of girls in comparison to 96.21% boys have marked success this year.
However, boys in both ICSE and ISC have been able to secure top positions.
The highest percentage in ICSE examination is 99% (English + best four subjects) while in ISC, it is 99.25% (English+ best three subjects).
According to CISCE Board, a total of 1,08,217 students comprising 60,812 boys and 47,405 girls, had appeared in Class 10th (ICSE) exams while a cumulative 52,552 students, including 29,207 boys and 23,345 girls, had appeared in Class 12th (ISC) exam, conducted in March this year.
In class 10th, the percentage of pass out students went to 98.05% while in class 12th it was 91.08% in 2009.
As many as 1701 candidates, including 905 girls, have been awarded grade 1 in each of the seven subjects in ICSE while 65 candidates, including 43 girls, have passed with grade 1 in each of the seven subjects in ISC examination.
CBSE Results
The Results of Central Board of School Examination for class 12 have also been declared on Wednesday for the three regions only – Ajmer, Punchkula and Chennai regions.
The results of the remaining regions would be declared on May 22.
The results can be seen on the official website of the CBSE (www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in) as well as MTNL’s website: http://mtnldelhi.in, http://bol.net.in and http://delhi.mtnl.in.
Students can also get the results through Interactive Voice Response System on 011-28127030 and through emails and SMS.
The CBSE result is also similar to CISCE results in which girls have once again surpassed the boys in terms of number of passing.
A total of 86.24% girls have passed the examination successfully this year as against 77.56% of boys, according to CBSE board statement.
The Board has also informed that a total of 1,04,873 students had taken the examination in which 81.20% students could be able to get success this year.
This year the passing rate increased marginally from 80.80% in 2008, while dropped in comparison to 2007 when it was at 83.57%, said CBSE board.
