Recovery of youth's body triggers clash in West Bengal

Siliguri, May 3 (IANS) There was tension at Jaigaon, close to the India-Bhutan border in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, after the recovery of a youth's body Sunday triggered a clash, leaving at least eight people injured, a police official said here.

 

'Trouble began after the body of the youth, allegedly kidnapped Saturday, was found this morning,' Inspector General of Police (North Bengal) K.L. Tamta said.

 

 

Irate people gathered and staged a demonstration setting fire to five vehicles.

 

 

Police reinforcements were rushed to the spot and the situation brought under control, Tamta said.
