Jangipur (WB), Mar 21 (ANI): As campaigning picks momentum for general elections, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee campaigned in his parliamentary constituency, Jangipur in West Bengal.
Mukherjee said that the talks for seat-sharing with Trinamool Congress were in progress.
"Talks for seat-sharing are going on. We are trying to create an environment and the process takes time. It might be difficult, but it is not impossible," he said, adding, "I will talk to Mamta Banerjee and after discussing with her, we can take the decision."
The Congress hopes to do well after striking an alliance with the Trinamool Congress.
The Trinamool is the main opposition party in West Bengal. The Congress is expected to contest in 14 of the state's 42 seats, leaving the rest to the Trinamool. (ANI)
