Mumbai/Coimbatore, Dec 8 (ANI): Muslims took out a march in Mumbai and Coimbatore to show their solidarity with the victims of last month's Mumbai terror attacks.
Hundreds of people, including Bollywood personalities joined the march.
Participants held banners and posters condemning the senseless killings.
"Muslims have converged here to tell the terrorists that they are not our representatives. They are not bringing fame to Islam, but bringing disrepute to it. They are presenting a picture of Islam that is not true. We have no relations with militants. They are our enemy and enemy of the country," said Javed Akhter, Bollywood lyricist.
Farooq Shaikh, an actor, said: "Politicians are more concerned about whatever is the next election. We need to tell our politicians that we are thinking beyond that, so if politicians want to represent us start thinking beyond that."
In Coimbatore, people held a candlelight vigil for the victims.
Participants said they expected stern measures from the government to prevent such attacks.
"The Government take appropriate action to teach a lesson to the terrorists by hitting directly on their targets," said C.R. Swaminathan, a participant.
At least 171 people were killed in multiple attacks in Mumbai last week. (ANI)
