Shimla, Nov 4 (IANS) At least 18 people, mostly women, were killed when a private bus rolled down a gorge near the tourist destination of Kufri in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh Tuesday morning, police said.
Eyewitnesses said more than 40 people were travelling in the bus when the accident took place. The bus was coming to the state capital here from Kumar Sein town, 70 km away.
Unconfirmed reports put the toll at 33 dead.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal confirmed 18 deaths.
The injured have been admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College here.
