Modi in a bid to melt differences with RSS through his book

After Advani, now it’s Modi’s turn to show his literary ability, in his book Jyotipunj but unlike Advani’s personal statement Modi’s book revolves around the life of prominent leaders of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Observers say that this is an effort by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to melt all the differences he developed with Sangh Parivar.

Interestingly the book is about the life of leaders of Sangh Parivar with whom he was never associated.

“This book is not about the relation between me and the Sangh leaders. It is about how I have watched them and how they have left an indelible impression on my mind,” said Modi.

“I have grown up holding the hands of these men. These were the people who embody the Indian model of leadership, of selfless service and dedication to the motherland,” he added.

Accentuating the unsung heroes of Sangh Parivar he said: “The outside world knows very little about these selfless leaders who gave their all for the country. The book is about them and not about my relationship with them. I do not figure anywhere in the book.”

The book is a reflection on the life and sacrifices made by iconic leader of RSS including Dr K B Hedgewar, M S Golwalkar and Madhurkar Bhagwat. Hedgewar is the only person whom Modi never met in his lifetime.

The book was released by RSS General Secretary Mohan Bhagwat who was also present during Advani’s book release. His present gave inclination towards improving relation with both the leaders who earlier had developed sour relation with RSS.

But Bhagwat in a tone to suppress all speculation said, “People who want to interpret it their own way will do so. They will question why and what Narendra Modi has written. It all depends on their state of mind.”

Reportedly, Modi has tried his writing skill while writing a collection of short stories for children.

Since, the book has been released recently and it is yet too early to get the review and reaction of the readers but hope Modi could come out without controversy unlike Advani whose book has several misquotes.
