Farukhabad, Jan 13 (ANI): Demanding fair and unbiased investigation into the alleged scam, tainted and dismissed former Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha has said that he had nothing to do with any scam and it was all a ploy to malign his image.
"I would like to say that the probe into the case is going on and commenting on it would not be the right thing. If this scam actually happened or did not happen I really don't know. I have nothing to do with this scam. It is all a game played to malign me and tarnish my image," Kushwaha told the media here on Thursday.
Kushwaha, a prominent backward caste leader from Uttar Pradesh, was earlier inducted in BJP with an eye on the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. However, it kicked up a storm of protests with many in the party voicing unhappiness over his alleged involvement in the National Rural Health Mission fund scam in the state. The surprise raids by the Central Bureau of Investigation, at the residence of Kushwaha for his alleged involvement in swindling funds allocated to government's health scheme for the rural population have emboldened the Congress party and BSP to point finger over his induction in the BJP.
The raid came as an embarrassment for the BJP as the party was supposed to give a poll ticket to Kushwaha, to contest in the upcoming assembly polls. (ANI)
