Karachi, Jan 9(ANI): The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to seek government's approval to allow its security team to visit Pakistan ahead of the proposed series between both countries.
BCB President Mustafa Kamal confirmed that a request has been made to the government to seek approval for the security team's visit.
"Our government will give the final go-ahead. We have sent it a request to send the security team. The government will form its team, which will also include our officials. It's up to them to decide when the visit will take place," The Express Tribune quoted Kamal, as saying.
He said the BCB has not yet taken any decision regarding the cities that will be visited by the security team.
"That'll also be decided by the government. We're expecting a prompt response and hopefully the security team will be visiting Pakistan soon," Kamal said.
The BCB had earlier promised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that it would send its team to the country to review the security situation, prior to the proposed Bangladesh tour of Pakistan in April.
The PCB has agreed to back the BCB nominee for the post of the International Cricket Council vice-president in return for the proposed Bangladesh tour. (ANI)
