Lahore, Jan 8(ANI): Pakistan cricket captain Misbah- ul- Haq has dispelled claims that the match conditions in the United Arab Emirates will benefit his side in a major way in the forthcoming series against England.
"We only have a slight edge due to home conditions because, really, we have played two series at the venues of Abu Dhabi and Dubai - playing at home is totally different. If we were playing in Pakistan then you could say we have home advantage," PakPassion.net quoted Misbah, as saying.
He said the Pakistan team would focus on maintaining discipline and giving good performances in the series against England.
"It is difficult for the bowlers in UAE conditions as the pitches are generally batsman friendly, but you have to remember that it's also difficult to score quickly in these conditions, as the pitches are not conducive to scoring quickly either," Misbah added.
He said the contribution of all players would be crucial for their success against England and added that all players were delivering to their potential.
"All Pakistani players are important components and winning is not as a result of any single player's performance, rather it's a team effort. At the moment it's heartening to see that all the players are performing very well and playing responsibly in different matches and we are not reliant on just one or two players," Misbah added. (ANI)
