London, Jan 8 (ANI): The Sydney Cricket Ground has silently re-introduced full strength beer for Twenty20 Big Bash matches, in a bid to attract more spectators.
While audience at the second Test between Australia and India, including former PM Bob Hawke, had to settle for light, officials have relaxed the rules for the shorter game, which has generated a record following on Fox Sports.
"We're giving the fans what they want,'' the Telegraph quoted SCG chief executive Jamie Barkley as saying.
Australia's former leader, Hawke, has been uploaded to YouTube downing a full cup of lager at the SCG egged on by cricket fans.
Video of Hawke's beer sculling exploits have gone viral on the internet, with the video clocking up 250,000 hits on YouTube in 24 hours.
Officials are putting the 27,000 people who turned up at the last T20 match at the ground to relaxing of the beer policy. (ANI)
