Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 7 (ANI): With Akhilesh Yadav making his stand clear that he would not induct any criminal element in the Samajwadi Party (SP), controversial MLA D. P. Yadav on Saturday hit out at the former, saying that he was a kid and lacked political maturity.
"I have never requested for any seat. When the talks began, I just told them (Samajwadi Party) that we want some people to stand for the upcoming polls if you want to support us you are welcome. There is no room for any battle or infighting on this. Akhilesh Yadav is a kid, he lacks maturity," said Yadav.
"His acts are similar to those youth, who are just out of college and school. He lacks political maturity," he added.
Akhilesh Yadav, who has been aggressively campaigning for the Samajwadi Party in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, had earlier said that DP Yadav and those with dubious record would not be taken in his party.
Uttar Pradesh is politically important, as it sends a large number of lawmakers to the Parliament in New Delhi.
Voting in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases starting February 4 and finishing on February 28.
Four other states, including Punjab, will hold elections between January 28 and March 3.
The results of the election would be declared on March 4. (ANI)
