Melbourne, Jan 6(ANI): Australian pace sensation James Pattinson has been ruled out for the rest of the ongoing series between India and Australia due to a foot injury.
Pattinson reported pain in his left foot during the second Test between India and Australia in Sydney.
His left foot, subsequently, showed early stage stress-related bone trauma in the X-ray scan, The Herald Sun reports.
Cricket Australia chairperson John Inverarity confirmed that Pattinson would be rested for the Perth Test, irrespective of his injury status.
Pattinson is the second victim of a foot injury after his team-mate Patrick Cummins was ruled out due to a heel injury.
Australian paceman Ryan Harris and left-armer Mitchell Starc may get berths in the Test squad for the Perth Test due to Pattinson's absence. (ANI)
