New York, Jan 5 (ANI): Hugh Jackman is planning to return to Broadway as Houdini in a musical in 2013-14.
The 43-year-old actor's just-closed one-man show at the Broadhurst Theatre grossed 14-plus million dollars in just 10 weeks.
It's fitting, then, that the Australian star known as the razor-clawed Wolverine in 'The X-Men' movies will play the world's most famous conjurer in the new musical 'Houdini'.
"I have been deeply fascinated by the life of Harry Houdini since I was young, and in many ways I've been preparing for this role my whole life," the New York Daily News quoted Jackman as saying.
"I am thrilled to be collaborating with this collection of artists who are all at the top of their game," he added.
The story, written by Aaron Sorkin, revolves around a battle between Houdini and trio of women who convinced million of people that they could communicate with the dead. (ANI)
