New Delhi, Jan 4 (ANI): Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said that the date for presenting the annual budget for 2012-13 has not been decided as yet, and added that it would be done after the completion of assembly polls in the five states.
Mukherjee, who presided over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs to finalise the date for presentation of the budget, said: "That I have already told that I have not yet decided the date. Yesterday, the Cabinet committee met."
"We are working out the days, but we will give the Budget after the election is over because 4th election results will come and 3rd election will be over, but code of conduct is still operational upto 9th. So, taking into account all implications, we will decide the date of the budget," he added.
The Election Commission has announced a seven-phased poll in Uttar Pradesh between February 4 and 28, while assembly elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa will be held in a single-phase. unjab and Uttarakhand will go to polls on January 30, while it will be held on January 28 in Manipur and on March 3 in Goa. The filing of nominations will begin on January 4 in Manipurhe counting of votes in all the five states will be held together on March 4. (ANI)
