Melbourne, Dec 27 (ANI): Australian pacer Peter Siddle claimed Sachin Tendulkar's wicket in the Melbourne Test with just two deliveries remaining on day two, but was not able to stop India from domination day 2 of the Test match.
After helping his team into a position of strength, Tendulkar was bowled for 73 in the last over of the day.
Earlier, Siddle had bowled Rahul Dravid on 65, only for replays to show he over-stepped the mark and bowled a no-ball.
India, however, retained the upper hand and will resume tomorrow at 3-214, only 119 runs shy of Australia's first innings total of 333, The Herald Sun reports.
Dravid will resume on 68 with night watchman Ishant Sharma yet to score.
Tendulkar and Dravid, the two highest-scoring batsmen in Test history, shared a 117-run partnership off 218 deliveries to capitalise on a pitch that had become docile as predicted.
Australia did not help its cause with two vital missed chances to remove opener Virender Sehwag on 11 and 58, as well as Siddle's no-ball that bowled Dravid. (ANI)
