Blackburn boss Kean confident of receiving support from Indian owners Venky's

London, Dec 25 (ANI): Under fire Blackburn manager Steve Kean is confident of receiving backing from the club's Indian owners Venky's during the January transfer window.

Blackburn fans have been asking for Kean's head from a long time mostly due to the team's position in league i.e. rock bottom in the relegation zone.

He has faced protest and criticism over past few months from the fans and has been under tremendous pressure to deliver which he has consistently failed to do.

But Keane believes he is not worried about his position as Blackburn's manager and has already provided the owners with a list of players he wants during the January Transfer window.

Ryan Nelsen, Scott Dann, Martin Olsson and Gael Givet are all part of a long injury list for Rovers. Even goalkeeper Paul Robinson is doubtful for their next clash against Liverpool, The Daily Mail reports.

Defense has been a major area of concern for the Rovers as they have already conceded 38 goals in 17 Premier League games without managing to keep a single clean sheet.

"We spoke about the transfer window and the need to get defenders in and just where we are. It was a very positive conversation. It wasn't a case where there was just positions discussed, it was names", says KeaneI told them I think we can get these players and let's push on and get them in the early part of the window so we can have a good amount of bodies and good competition for places once the other lads get out of the treatment room," he added.

Keane seemed confident regarding owner's backing and said Venky's are definitely aware of the current mess in which the club lies.

"I think they are aware (of the atmosphere). They watch the games, if not live then a few hours after. They read all the newspapers and all forms of the media. They're being supportive to me. Anytime I ask for a player I normally get them, so that's good support", said Keane. (ANI)
