London, Dec 25(ANI): Former English footballer and Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has vowed to get his team back into the Champions League amid talks of him taking over as the next England boss.
Redknapp is tipped to succeed England manager Fabio Capello after transforming Spurs from relegation contenders to Champions League quarter-finalists after taking over the post in October 2008.
England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has reckoned that Redknapp is a suitable contender to replace Capello.
"The candidate that for me who stands out at the current time will be Harry Redknapp. He has proved and shown that he can manage the high profile players in today's football," The Daily Express quoted Hurst, as saying.
Redknapp, however, is worried about the speculation's effect on his selection if the Football Association (FA) has begun the process of finding a replacement.
He urged the FA not to rush with appointment to the post unless they have a suitable candidate in mind, who is currently out of work. (ANI)
