Melbourne, Dec 25(ANI): Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin believes his team is fully prepared for Boxing Day Test match against India and has left their humbling defeat to New Zealand at Hobart behind them.
"We are doing well and had a week to prepare. All the lads look in great touch and I think we couldn't have been more ready for the Boxing Day Test match", says Haddin.
Haddin also dismissed the notion that the Aussies were planning something special to prevent the Little Master, Sachin Tendulkar, from scoring his much-awaited 100th international ton, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
"That"s exciting, the prospect of him scoring his hundredth 100, for the fans and everyone involved in the game, but we haven't really discussed this during our team meeting", said Haddin.
He further said, "With a bit of luck we don't give him the opportunity to get there".
Haddin also emphasized the significance of playing the Boxing Day Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. "Boxing Day is a great occasion to walk out onto the MCG. As a sportsman, it's a highlight to be able to come out in front of 60,000 or 70,000 to watch a Test match," said Haddin.
Meanwhile Australia has axed South Australian all rounder Daniel Christian and young pacer Mitchell Starc from their 13-member squad for Boxing Day Test match.
Dropping Christian can be a tricky affair since all rounder Shane Watson is yet to prove his fitness. This will leave them with a lesser bowling option. (ANI)
