New Delhi, Dec.24 (ANI): The Indian Government, through its embassy in Norway and the Norwegian embassy in New Delhi, is understood to have taken up the matter of an NRI couple whose two infant children have been placed in foster parental care.
Mr. and Mrs. Anurup Bhattacharya, are based in Stavanger (Norway), and their children were taken under protective care by Barnevarne (Norwegian Child Welfare Services) as per the directiveof the local Norwegian court, as mandated under Norwegian laws.
A Ministry of External Affairs release said that apart from the two embassies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway has been sensitized about the matter informally.
As the matter is sub-judice, the Bhattacharyas have been advised to take suitable legal recourse.
