Dhaka, Dec 24(ANI): The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Mustafa Kamal has said that Pakistan's support to develop the game in his country to the international standard is important.
"Pakistan have been supportive to us since the beginning. We need that to lift our sport as we are still a struggling outfit," The Express Tribune quoted him, as saying.
His statement came ahead of Bangladesh's tour of Pakistan in January.
Bangladesh has agreed to tour Pakistan after getting a security clearance in return for which, Pakistan has agreed to back Kamal's candidature for the International Cricket Council's vice-president post.
Kamal said Bangladesh's security team was being formed, which would assess the situation in Pakistan before the team's tour of that country.
"The BCB has started the process of forming a security team that will visit Pakistan. The team will visit Pakistan next month and based on its feedback, a tour will be arranged," he said.
"The team will comprise of our home ministry, police and other government officials. It will thoroughly assess the situation and give its suggestions. We will also be sending different teams including our 'A', U-19 and academy teams before the tour that will give a better understanding," he added. (ANI)
