Washington, Dec 23 (ANI): Courtney Love has slammed her "vicious" landlord for filing a lawsuit to evict the singer from her New York home, insisting that the legal action is "weird as heck".
The 47-year-old rocker moved into the Manhattan townhouse earlier this year but the building's owner Donna Lyon has launched a court battle to evict the star, claiming she owes more than 50,000 dollars in rent.
Lyon has also complained about the singer re-decorating the property without permission, but Love insists she's only taking advantage of a clause in their contract, which allows her to make changes to the interior design.
"I moved into this home only on the condition that I could paint it and when I leave, I'd restore it to exactly what it was. Since I darkened the door she (the owner) has been vicious to me and my staff," Contactmuisc quoted the singer as writing on a blog post on xoJane.com.
"Having a landlady tell you your Prelle, 2,000 dollar-a-yard fabric...is 'destructive' is totally weird. My taste is artful and femme, but it's excellent.
"I'm 47, have bought and sold 14 houses...and love doing them nicely and tripling the price; it's just never been a question, so this whole experience is weird as heck," she wrote.
Love's current lease on the townhouse is due to expire on Feb 15, while a court hearing in the case has been postponed until Jan 13. (ANI)
