London, Dec 23: Dutch striker Robin Van Persie has expressed pride over equaling Thierry Henry's record of 34 goals in a calendar year.
He still needs two more goals to equal Alan Shearer's all time Premier league record of 36 goals in a calendar year, which was set up in the year 1995.
"To achieve what Henry did in a year is really special. It makes me proud and it's a very big honor for me since he has been the best player to ever play in an Arsenal shirt", says Van Persie.
Persie credits his blistering goal scoring form to his good fitness level. He said: "It has helped that I haven't missed a single League game and featured for 90 minutes in most."
Van Persie also stressed on the importance of team performance and said if Arsenal wants to do well through out the course of the season then its important the whole team performs well. (ANI)
