London, Dec 22 (ANI): U2's 360 degree show has been named the highest earning touring act of 2011, while Bon Jovi came in at second place.
According to Billboard Boxscore, the series of shows by the Irish rock band grossed 293 million dollars across 44 sold-out gigs with a total of 2,887,972 people attending.
2010's highest-earning act Bon Jovi landed the number two spot this year with 1,851,385 fans witnessing the 'Living On A Prayer' rockers, and earning 192 million dollars from 68 shows in 2011.
Take That's summer stadium Progress gigs, the highest grossing tour in UK history, came in third.
A total of 1,851,385 fans saw Robbie Williams rejoin the group for concerts in Europe, grossing 117 million pounds across 29 shows.
Roger Waters and Taylor Swift completed the top five highest grossing touring artists of the year, the BBC reported.
Also in the top ten were Kenny Chesney at No.6, Usher No.7, Lady Gaga at No.8, Andre Rieu in No.9 and Sade No.10.
Other artists featured in the top 20 includeed Michael Buble, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Justin Bieber, Glee, Britney Spears and Iron Maiden.
Billboard's rankings were based on tours, which took place between Nov 1, 2010 and Nov 8, 2011. (ANI)
