New Delhi, Dec 22 (ANI): Union Law and Justice Minister Salman Khurshid on Thursday urged individuals and groups to maintain calm and allow the Lokpal Bill to be debated in the Parliament.
Khurshid said that it would be apt for lawmakers to debate and vote against or in favour of the anti-graft bill in Parliament.
"Let things happen in the House, let's not do anything outside the House, whatever happens must happen in the House, it (Lokpal Bill) must be introduced in the House, must be considered in the House, people should vote in the House let us not do it outside the House," he told the media here.
The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 2 p.m. after uproar against minorities being kept out of quota in Lokpal Bill.
Meanwhile, commenting on veteran social activist Anna Hazare's campaign against corruption, Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi said Hazare has the right to express himself as the constitutional system continues to do its designated work.
"He (Anna Hazare) has every right to say in a democracy what he feels like but the democratic system and constitutional system will work and it is in the Parliament that a law is enacted," said Chaturvedi.
The Union Cabinet had on Tuesday approved the Bill for creation of the Lokpal with Constitutional status.
The fresh Bill allows the Lokpal to oversee investigation of cases referred by it by the CBI. But, the Bill clearly mentions that CBI will continue to be under the government's administrative control. (ANI)
