Sydney, Dec 17(ANI): Australian batsman Ricky Ponting has dismissed suggestions that his one-off Twenty20 Big Bash League outing for the Hobart Hurricanes could hinder his preparation for the upcoming four-Test series against India.
Ponting will open the batting for the Hurricanes in their tournament-opener against Perth Scorchers at the WACA Ground on Sunday.
"I think as professional cricketers these days you are changing over from different formats of the game on pretty much a weekly or daily basis sometimes. So, the adjustment shouldn't be too much of an issue," the Age quoted Ponting, as saying.
"It's not my preparation for the Test. I'm here to win a game for the Hurricanes. My Test preparation starts after that (during next week's batting camp)," he added.
The first Test of the series will start in Melbourne on December 26.
The remaining Tests will be played in Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. The Tests will be followed by two Twenty20 internationals, before Sri Lanka join in for a one-day tri-series from February 5. (ANI)
