Melbourne, Dec 16(ANI): Melbourne Stars coach Greg Shipperd has described veteran bowler Shane Warne as a certain starter for the opening match of the Big Bash League.
"He is in fine form and he will be available and he will be selected," Shipperd said
The first match would witness a clash between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder at the Melboune Cricket Ground on December 17, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Shipperd said Warne, 42, is the best spin bowler in Australia though he retired from the international cricket four years ago.
Warne bowled at the practice session though he is still recovering from his burnt right hand.
Stars captain Cameron White said Test bowlers Peter Siddle and James Pattinson would not play in the opening game. (ANI)
