London, Dec 15(ANI): Former British footballer and Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has backed 'noisy neighbour' Manchester City to win the Europa League.
"Let them have it. Good luck to them! It will be interesting, won't it? I was at Old Trafford last Saturday and it was great hearing the Wolves fans chanting to the United supporters 'Thursday night, Channel Five'," The Sun quoted Redknapp, as saying.
"I think City will win it if they want to. Alex won't go with the first team on a Thursday night, will he? But City can change their team.Just look at them at Chelsea the other night. You've Nasri on the bench, Dzeko, it's unreal," he added.
His statement came amid his team being on the verge of ouster in the UEFA's second rate contest.
Tottenham must defeat Shamrock in today's match and hope that PAOK Salonika beat a Russian team, Rubin Kazan with a six-goal swing to qualify in the last 32 teams.
Redknapp said he would feel guilty if his team crashed out of the Europa League.
"You've lads there like Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore and Tom Carroll who have done well. It has been good for them," Redknapp added. (ANI)
