London, Dec 13 (ANI): David Hasselhoff is planning to purchase the rights to a movie of the hit TV show 'Baywatch' and is keen on making it a beach-based version of 'Butch Cassidy' and 'The Sundance Kid'.
Fans of the classic '90s show, which launched the acting career of Pamela Anderson, have long been hoping to see their favourite characters on the big-screen, but the rumoured project is yet to materialise.
Hasselhoff, who played lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the show, is vying for the rights to the film, and he wishes to base it on Paul Newman and Robert Redford's 1969 cowboy classic, starring himself as a mentor to a young playboy.
"Right now I'm trying to get the rights to the movie. I would be in it. I would produce it... I would be the father figure, and you put a hot young kid in there and he comes to dad (for advice) - like The Sting, like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," the Daily Express quoted him as telling 'Loose Women'.
