Washington, Dec 10 (ANI): Television star Angie Harmon has revealed that this January she is packing up the whole family and heading to impoverished areas of India with UNICEF.
The 39-year-old actress said she and her husband Jason Sehorn, a former NFL pro, have planned the trip because they want to expose their three daughters to other ways of living.
"I want to create an awareness in them from an early age," People quoted her as saying during UNICEF's Snowflake Ball on Nov. 29 in New York.
"It is, literally, to teach my children that not everyone has a home or running water or food," she said.
And while her daughters - Finley Faith, Avery Grace and Emery Hope - might have trouble relating to the contrasting circumstances this month, Harmon is determined that they at least gain a sense of compassion.
"They're sweet, sweet girls, and I don't expect them to understand poverty or the way some other children grow up. But I do expect them to start being aware. So we're taking them. I thought I'd hit it right at the heart," she stated.
The 'Rizzoli and Isles' actress thinks that teaching them is ultimately "a household thing." (ANI)
