London, Dec 6 (ANI): Simon Curtis, the director of new film 'My Week with Marilyn', has described the efforts that he undertook to ensure Dame Judi Dench was available for production.
Simon Curtis claimed that he was forced to assemble the cast and crew two weeks before filming was scheduled to start just to film a handful of Dame Judi's scenes.
The actress, who once won an Oscar for an eight-minute appearance in Shakespeare in Love in 1999, was due to be filming 4,000 miles away in India when the shoot was due to begin.
The only solution to the problem was to spend two days carefully filming her scenes separately at Pinewood Studios outside London and joining the sequences together with actors in full costume at a later date.
"It was like playing 3D Sudoku," the Telegraph quote Mr Curtis as saying.
"Even talking about it now I'm getting confused
"Was it worth it to do this to get Judi Dench in the film? The answer is an emphatic yes," he added (ANI)
