Washington, Dec 5(ANI): Facebook has blacklisted Irish town Effin over having an offensive name.
The social networking site did not let a user, Ann Marie Kennedy list Effin as her 'hometown' on her profile page as it was deemed obscene.
"It came back with an error message saying 'offensive. It will recognise Limerick, but I'm from Effin. I'm a proud Effin woman," The Daily Mail quoted Kennedy, as saying.
Kennedy tried to set up a group called 'Please get my hometown Effin recognised' on Facebook, after the company failed to respond to her queries. hough Facebook allows the word 'effin' in many groups and profile names, it does not recognise it as a location.
A Facebook spokesperson said the company was looking into the issue. (ANI)
