Sydney, Dec.2 (ANI): Former Indian-origin England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar believes that Australia has been taking the right steps to head back to the top of the international cricket ladder.
The 29-year-old England cricketer, who is currently playing in Sydney with Randwick-Petersham this summer, said he impressed with what he'd seen so far from the Australian cricket team.
"They have a new coach and new selectors in place so they're in a transitional period where they're going to build a team up and I think it gives them a good opportunity with two Test matches against New Zealand and four against India to build a new squad coming into the winter and next summer I guess," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Panesar, as saying.
He added: "I think with any team sport, it takes time to get your 12, 11 players that you're certain with and it sort of takes a couple of games to work that out." (ANI)
