Kot Bhalwal (Jammu), Nov.30 (ANI): A student of the electric engineering department of the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology in Jammu has invented a mobile battery that needs to be charged only once.
Low battery life irking mobile users may, therefore, soon be a thing of the past.
Idrees Ul Haq, who is studying Bachelor of Engineering Electronics and Commutation claims to have invented a mobile battery, which needs to be charged just once.
He recently presented a research paper on the topic during the Jammu and Kashmir Science Congress held at Jammu University.
According to Idrees, he used solar strips for tapping solar energy while thermo electrical transducers were used for converting heat from human body into electrical signals.
"According to this research, we can make a self-charging mobile battery. Once charged, the battery won't need to be recharged. Basically, three concepts are applied in this research - the first is the Solar thin film, which is applied at the back side of the mobile, second is piezoelectric buttons, and the third is translucent action,'' said, Idrees.
The technology may play a pivotal role in tackling the world's energy crisis and the device has the flexibility to be used with different electronic gadgets ranging from laptops to TVs.
"This project is on mobile telephone, as of today, we have got more than 80 crore (800 Million) mobile phones in this country, 2 crore (20 Million) are being added every month, and the worst part is the battery - how to charge a battery, without putting it to the mains, without using electricity,'' said, S. K. Sharma, Principal, MIET College.
Idrees is confident that if he gets some sponsors, further research could be done.
"If any company approaches me, then I would like to share my innovation with them. It can bring a revolution in the mobile world. Imagine a person will not require his mobile to be charged. The best thing is the fact that today 1.8 million volt of energy is being consumed around the world, and if the technology which I have developed is used in T.V and laptops apart from Mobiles, then it will help tackle the energy crisis,'' said Idrees.
Such innovations are the need of the hour as they not only makes our life better but also our planet a better place to live in. (ANI)
