Brisbane, Nov 28(ANI): The Brisbane Cricket Ground's head groundsman has promised an unusually juicy pitch for the opening Test between Australia and New Zealand, which starts on Thursday.
"It will be a very different pitch and the fast bowlers should love it because it will move around a lot more. This pitch is not as deep as a lot of others and it will play a lot more like a Sheffield Shield pitch," Gabba boss Kevin Mitchell told Courier Mail.
"The pitch will be a pitch I have not used in Test cricket for at least 15 years. I honestly cannot remember the last time I used it for a Test and it has not been used in the Sheffield Shield this season," he added.
The pitch will be in stark contrast to that used in last year's Ashes Test that saw 1258 runs scored.
Mitchell also says that winning the toss could be crucial. (ANI)
