Melbourne, Nov 28(ANI): New Zealand batsmen Ross Taylor and Jesse Ryder have denied suggestions that the relatively inexperienced Australian team will be vulnerable in the two-Test series.
"I guess any team who comes in with a few debutants, it's going to be different, but you've still got Ricky Ponting averaging 52, Hussey averages 50, and Michael Clarke is a shade under 50, so they've still got that experience there," stuff.co.nz quoted Taylor, as saying.
"We've got a pretty young team as well, but we don't have the big names throughout the team. It will make for a good contest," he added.
Ryder said that his team cannot afford to take Australia lightly, and insisted that they must be careful.
"We've come out in this game (Australia A) and had a good hitout, I think we got what we needed out of it and heading into the first test everyone's confidence is pretty high," he said. (ANI)
