London, Nov 28 (ANI): Italian men topped the poll for using the best chat-up lines when it comes to women, according to a new study.
The new study, by pasta manufacturer Giovanni Rana, found that nearly a quarter of women believed men in the UK used the best ice-breakers, com- pared to 19 percent of French men, but both the nationalities were beaten by the Italians, who topped the poll with 34 per cent of the votes.
One of the favourite ways of Italians of wooing a beautiful girl was "my underwear is edible."
More than 42 percent of British men said their corny lines had been successful when flirting.
Among some of the favourites, the best line was "get your coat, you've pulled", while others favourites included "did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" and the classic being "o you come here often?"
"While Brits now trump the French, smooth-talking Italians are streets ahead of both," the Daily Express quoted Stephen Hull from the company as saying.
According to Hull, 10 percent of British men used self-help manuals to improve their chat-up gambits. (ANI)
