Canberra, Nov 23 (ANI): Indian IT entrepreneur Sabeer Bhatia, better known as the co-founder of email service Hotmail, has launched a mobile application that allows users to send unlimited free text messages.
Bhatia said in a statement that his latest venture, named JaxtrSMS, would do "to SMS what Hotmail did for e-mail".
The application, launched at a news conference in Mumbai, will let users send free text messages from their mobile phones to any other mobile in the world, even if the recipient does not have the JaxtrSMS application.
Other free mobile messaging services on the market are restricted to users having the same application.
It is a free, downloadable application, which works on smartphones, telegraph.com.au reports.
It has been developed entirely in India, which is one of the fastest-growing mobile phone markets in the world with more than 850 million subscribers. (ANI)
