Lucknow, Nov 17 (ANI): Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has slammed the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, saying people would raise suspicion over his honesty if he is not able to run the country with integrity.
"The whole country looks up to the prime minister as an honest person but if he is not able to use his honesty in politics or is not able to fulfill his duties towards the nation then I feel the country will start questioning his honesty. Therefore, his personal honesty should also be reflected in his political work," Baba Ramdev told the media here.
He urged the Central Government to immediately initiate measures to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks.
"Attention should be given to three issues of Indian politics, black money, corruption and change of policies. Government should take some necessary steps to bring back the black money. What is wrong in this? Why does government has a problem in converting illegal money of Indians stashed in foreign banks into national property," he added.
Baba Ramdev further said that Congress party is intentionally not making the names of 700 people public as it may engulf some of its eminent leaders.
"More than 100 people of a single political party are involved in this, which is why their names are not made public. This is a serious issue. This is like bluffing or deceiving the people of India. People who are in power should not be biased like this. 700 people whose names have been received are not because of some treaty but a country has given these names to the Indian government in lieu of friendship. Why government is hiding the names of these 700 people," he asserted.
As per reports, an estimated 500 billion dollars to 1.4 trillion dollars of unaccounted money has been deposited secretly in overseas banks by wealthy Indians and corporate bodies.
Earlier, in February 2011, legal notices were served to 17 persons in connection with foreign bank holdings, but international agreements and legal hurdles barred the government from revealing the identities of the persons named. (ANI)
