London, Nov 12 (ANI): When it comes to the perfect home, there is much more that unites the two sexes than divides them, in particular, that one day they will be able to live the dream, a new survey has found.

According to a poll of nearly 400 people by The Daily Telegraph, one in four women picked open-plan living as one of their top five requirements, making it the most sought-after feature.

For men, an entertainment deck was the most popular of 24 options, featuring in the top five for 23 percent of respondents, whereas only 13 percent of women picked an entertainment deck, just ahead of a walk-in wardrobe, a feature only 1 percent of men thought important.

The sexes were seen to agree on the basics, as two-thirds of both men and women want four or more bedrooms, and more than 90 percent of both sexes want two or three bathrooms.

Answers about block sizes were a mirror image, with 500-1000sq m the most popular choice.

When asked about what they wanted to be close to, 55 percent nominated cafes in their top three of 12 choices and nearly 40 percent wanted to be near family compared to 23 per cent of men, but the most favoured option for men was the beach, with 65 per cent.

"We target women with our advertising because they are the ones driving the decision-making in most instances," News.com.au quoted Domenic Vitalone, managing director of Wisdom Homes as saying.

"The blokes are just happy with a big garage and a big cinema area.

"For women, they are more interested in the butler's walk-in pantries, nice kitchens, nice bathrooms and an alfresco area," he added. (ANI)
