Mamata's visit to Police Station un-CM like, behave like CM, says Biman Bose

Kolkata, Nov. 9 (ANI): Senior Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Biman Bose on Wednesday criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for intervening in police proceedings and misusing her authority for the release of Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers.

"She went there to release two of her party activists those who were arrested. This is definitely unbecoming of a chief minister. Chief Minister can have a talk with the top police official about their release, but the Chief Minister never went to the police station to release their activists from the police station," Bose told mediapersons here.

"It is really unbecoming of a chief minister and this is not good for the fame and name of Bengal. When you become chief minister you should behave like a chef minister, you cannot behave like a student leader," he added.

His remarks come after Banerjee visited a police station on Sunday and shouted at the policemen , and demanded the release of two members of her party.

Both the activists were arrested on charges of vandalism while carrying out a procession in the city.

Bose further said the CPI-M was disinterested in commenting upon the relations between the ruling Congress Party and its key ally TMC.

"We are just not wasting our energy to concentrate on how the relation of the Congress and TMC is standing. We are least interested about all this," said Bose.

Some members of the TMC had earlier threatened to quit the ruling coalition unless the fuel prices hike was reversed with the intention of testing the government's commitment to a move sorely needed to cut the fiscal deficit.tate-owned oil companies had on Friday increased the price of petrol by Rs. 1.80 per litre, the second raise in less than two months.
