London, Nov 5(ANI): Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has hailed "unique" Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of the Scot's 25th anniversary in charge of Manchester United.
Ferguson will mark a quarter of a century at the Old Trafford helm on Sunday.
"Sir Alex is a unique manager in the history of Manchester United. Sir Alex is a unique manager in the history of English football. And Sir Alex is a unique manager in the history of European football," the Sun quoted Mourinho, as saying.
"I really wish he stays in the job with the same happiness and ambition for many, many more years," he added.
With 25 years as manager of United, Ferguson is the longest serving manager in their history after overtaking Sir Matt Busby's record in December 2010.
His tenure is also the longest of all the current League managers.
During this time, Ferguson has won many awards and holds many records including winning Manager of the Year most times in British football history.
In 2008, he became the third British manager to win the European Cup on more than one occasion.
He was knighted in 1999 for his services to the game and also holds the Freedom of the City of Aberdeen. (ANI)
