London, Nov.2 (ANI): England football captain John Terry is to be quizzed by cops over an alleged racist outburst at fellow soccer star Anton Ferdinand.
Chelsea defender Terry, 30, could be charged with racial harassment. It carries a penalty of up to seven years' jail, The Sun reports.
Police are launching a full criminal inquiry after detectives examined video taken at a Premier League game between London sides Chelsea and Ferdinand's club Queens Park Rangers on Sunday October 23.
Terry will be interviewed under caution over allegations he called Ferdinand, left, a "f****** black ****".
No decision has been made on whether to arrest Terry.
Ferdinand, the 26-year-old younger brother of Manchester United star and ex-England captain Rio Ferdinand, will also be interviewed as a witness.
The FA is also conducting an investigation. Terry was a substitute but did not play in Chelsea's 1-1 draw last night.
Metropolitan Police confirmed last night: "An incident involving alleged racial abuse on October 23 is being investigated." (ANI)
