New Delhi, Nov. 1 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has hit out again at Team Anna, accusing its members of misusing funds during the anti-graft movement.
Responding to a question that the India Against Corruption has put out details of all its expenses on its website, Digvijay Singh said "The details about our (politicians) expenses are available on the Election Commission site (website) so it is nothing new. But I am not able to understand one thing, that while on one hand they (Team Anna) are taking unknown donations, earlier it was said that the donors have been given a receipt of it and they are now returning unknown donations of Rs. 40 lakh. Now, whom will they return this unknown donation?"
"It's quite confusing and seems that there are no details or accounts, but whatever Kejriwal (Anna Hazare's key aide Arvind Kejriwal) says is correct," he added.
When asked to comment on his latest tweet that hit out at the Mayawati Government and the alleged corruption in Uttar Pradesh, Digvijay Singh said: "I have always said that UP (Uttar Pradesh) has become a centre for corruption, institutionalised corruption under Mayawati's regime, and I hope Sri Sri Ravishankar Maharaj (spiritual leader and founder of 'Art of Living'), will look at it."
Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will embark on an anti-corruption movement in Uttar Pradesh from November 7 in which he would be holding satsangs across the state and ask people to take an oath of not indulging in corruption.
Digvijay Singh also lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for terming him 'mentally instable'.
"The Plan D of BJP is to hit out at Digvijay Singh, to send him to mental asylum. Now Subramaniam Swami (Janata Party president) has also come down against Digvijay Singh, I also welcome him."
The BJP had on Monday slammed Digvijay Singh for his statement that roping in Sri Sri Ravishankar was part of the RSS's plan and that the Congress leader was being used by his party to resort to 'dirty tricks'.
"Digvijay Singh is Plan D of the Congress. Whether one calls it dirty tricks or duffer," said BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar.
Digvijay had earlier said that Sri Sri Ravishankar was part of 'Plan C' of the RSS-BJP combine to attack Congress.
"Plan A - Baba Ramdev. Crashed. Plan B- Anna?. Plan C - Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, soon to start his campaign," he had tweeted. (ANI)
